Advertising Policy
Labeled, limited, and never at the expense of clinician trust.
Last updated July 4, 2026
Plain-language summary: Ads on VitalPost are always labeled "Sponsored," strictly limited in volume, never mixed into organic search rankings, and never allow an advertiser to see clinician contact details without consent. Clinicians never pay, and the experience stays clean.
1. Our advertising philosophy
VitalPost is built for clinicians first. Advertising helps keep the Platform free for clinicians, but it will never come at the expense of their experience or trust. Every advertising decision is measured against a simple test: does this respect the clinician's time and attention?
2. Ads are always labeled
Every paid placement is clearly marked "Sponsored" so it is never confused with organic content. We do not disguise ads as job listings, articles, or search results.
3. Strict volume limits
We cap ad density deliberately. Sponsored placements appear at most once per six results in a feed, and key surfaces (such as a clinician's messages and profile) carry no ads at all. We would rather run fewer, better-matched ads than saturate the page.
4. We never sell organic ranking
Advertisers cannot buy their way into organic search results. Paid promotion of a job listing (for example, Featured placement or a Homepage Spotlight) is a separate, clearly-badged product that boosts a legitimate listing's visibility — it does not alter the neutral ranking of organic results, and it is always identifiable as promoted.
5. Clinician privacy is non-negotiable
Advertisers and sponsors never receive clinician contact details, identities, or CVs through advertising. The Platform's consent-first anonymity model applies to advertising exactly as it does everywhere else: a clinician's information is shared only when the clinician chooses to reply.
6. What we will not accept
We decline advertising that is:
- misleading, deceptive, or making unsubstantiated claims;
- discriminatory in violation of applicable law;
- for products or services that are unsafe, illegal, or incompatible with a professional medical audience;
- designed to impersonate VitalPost, a clinician, or an employer.
We may reject or remove any advertisement at our discretion.
7. Job promotion products
Employers may pay to increase a listing's reach through clearly-labeled products such as Featured placement, Homepage Spotlight, and an Urgent badge. These promote real, policy-compliant listings and are distinct from third-party display advertising covered by this policy.
8. Advertiser responsibilities
Advertisers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their ads and for complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including those governing healthcare marketing. Advertisers must honor the claims they make.
9. Feedback
If you believe an ad violates this policy, tell us through our contact page or the "Report a bug" tool — we review reports promptly.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as the Platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
